HBI Honors Sales Performance of Top Broker

Great Neck, New York - Hotel Brokers International (HBI) presented Deirdre (Murphy) Ventura, CHB, with the association's highest honor - 2002 Broker of the Year. This award is presented to a broker member based upon a number of factors including significant sales volume and participation in HBI's programs and activities. Murphy was recognized at the HBI 2003 Annual Meeting held January 30 - February 1 at the Aladdin Resort Casino in Las Vegas.

Murphy brokered transactions totaling more than $35 million in 2002. Additionally, the firm financed 95% of those transactions.

"Ms. Murphy has made several contributions to HBI and her sales achievements in 2002 were outstanding in closing a number of transactions which had great impact on her receiving this honor," said Greer Lee, CHB, outgoing president.

Deirdre (Murphy) Ventura, CHB Innvest Hotel Brokers, also captured the award for the Largest Portfolio Sale in her closing of a package of "to be built turn key properties" totaling over 200 units in New York.

Murphy is president of Innvest Hotel Brokers, formerly known as the Wilder Group LLC, a Great Neck, NY, based brokerage firm. She became an associate member of HBI in 1989 and previously served on the association's board of directors for ten years.
